Abstract

In the digital era, many computer networks require many computers that are connected to each other using routers and switches. The more devices connected, the more complex the configuration that must be done because the control plane and data plane are still incorporated in a conventional network. To solve configuration problems in conventional networks, created Software Defined Networking technology that separates the control plane and data plane so that it is more customizable and easier to set up. This study simulates a Software Defined Network (SDN) network using a RYU controller that is integrated with a mininet that uses 4 parameters, namely throughput, delay, packet loss, jitter as an analysis material that will be carried out with a total of 3 OpenFlow switches, each of which is connected. to multiple hosts. This test is carried out as a solution in time efficiency of data fiow with the RYU controller. In this study, the results obtained throughput TCP 32,006 ms and UDP 29,486 ms. Packet loss of TCP and UDP protocols 0% or no packets lost. The delay value generated by the TCP protocol is 4.2384 ms and the UDP protocol is 1.863 ms and the jitter value generated by the TCP protocol is 4.2334 ms and the UDP protocol is 0.1506 ms. The value is good according to the TIPHON standard. Keywords: RYU Controller, SDN (Software Defined Network), Mininet, Throughput, Delay, Packet loss, Jitter, Wireshark.
