Abstract

Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial Second Generation (DVB-T2) is one of many types of broadcasting technology. The system change on analog television signals to digital using DVB-T2 is a form of development in the digitalization era. The DVB-T2 communication system is still in the range of the weak signal received, so a Low Noise Amplifier is needed to strengthen the signal power. The purpose of strengthening the power of the DVB-T2 receiver system is so that the received signal output is not lost due to weak signal. This study aims to make a device to increase the received signal gain to be good with a small noise value. This study designed a Low Noise Amplifier using a two-stage transistor with a 1/4λ and 3/8λ transformer line method. This design uses ADS software, where the results obtained are gain 21.074 dB, noise figure 2.194 dB, K-factor 1.786, VSWR Input 1.380, and VSWR Output 2.523. These results have met the expected specifications, but not all parameters meet the specifications, so optimization is carried out to increase the value of the output VSWR. The addition of capacitor and inductor components on the output side can cause the output reflection coefficient to be smaller, and make the output VSWR value better, it can be seen after the optimization results obtained are gain 21.965 dB, noise figure 2.194 dB, K-factor 1.786, VSWR Input 1,143, and the VSWR Output is 1,085. In the design before and after optimization, the gain value increased, and the input VSWR and output VSWR values became better, but did not affect the value of the noise figure and also the K-factor, these results were due to the addition of the capacitor and conductor values did not affect the stability and noise values. the figure of the DVB-T2 LNA design and the design is in accordance with the DVB-T2 provisions or regulations. Keywords: Low Noise Amplifier, Gain, Noise figure, K-factor, VSWR
