Abstract

Drying of grain is generally done by farmers by utilizing direct sunlight, namely by drying it, but it is not uncommon for farmers to feel worried that it will be difficult if it rains, that is, farmers must immediately put the rice in so it doesn't get wet again. This study aims to provide a solution to farmers so that they have no difficulty if it rains, namely by building a drying system based on the Internet of things. This research was built using the Prototype method. The results of the system development show that the Rain Sensor and LDR Sensor on the Arduino UNO microcontroller managed to move the servo with a short response time (< 1 second), the Temperature Sensor on the Wemos D1R1 microcontroller managed to move the servo and rotate and stop the fan with a short response time (< 1 seconds), the Blynk control on the Wemos D1R1 microcontroller managed to move the servo with a response time of 1-2 seconds, which tends to be longer. The implementation of grain drying has been successful, that is, if the light dims (cloudy), it rains or the temperature is below 20 degrees, the dryer fan will automatically work/rotate to dry the grain. Drying 1 kg of grain takes 13 minutes while drying of 5 kg of grain takes 68 minutes, this is because the wet part of the grain (bottom) is protected by the top of the dry grain.
