Abstract

The rapid development of Information and Communication Technology has resulted in an increasing number of technologies being accessed by the public. Cloud Computing technology is an infrastructure that is able to provide the process of designing and running an application that is accessed by many users in an optimal, efficient, effective manner, has high performance and a high level of comfort from the user side and application developer. This report seeks to examine the process for organizing and managing the design of an Android mobile application using a Cloud Computing infrastructure which also focuses on one of the important components in designing an application, namely the database. The application will be designed using a cloud database that leverages the Firebase platform. The database used uses a non-relational database type called Realtime Database. Realtime Database is customized and designed based on what data needs to be displayed in the application. The database creation process is done in writing from the developer's computer using JSON formatting which will later be imported directly into Firebase. The results obtained when designing applications using Realtime Database are that by utilizing JSON files, the application design process is simpler because the database creation process is faster than the database creation process directly through Firebase, another benefit of using Realtime Database is very fast data synchronization between databases. with data that is displayed to each client that accesses the application.
