Abstract

The development of cellular telecommunications technology continues to evolving, the 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) network in Indonesia needs to be improved in terms of quality and coverage for more evenly distributed to all regions before the 5G network is built. The object area of research is Watulumbung village, Jiken sub-district, Blora district on site ID (site Identity) BLA699 Watulumbung Jiken. Watulumbung Village is included in rural areas category. The percentage of utility (capacity usage) of the 900 MHz 4G LTE network frequency at the BLA699 site is 91.8%, almost reaching 100% which has the potential to cause overload utilization, so that an additional 1800MHz frequency is carried out to increase capacity which aims to improve service quality of the network at the area. After the addition of 1800MHz frequency, capacity increases and the percentage of utility at each frequency became balance (47.86% at 900MHz frequency and 53.50% at 1800MHz frequency). The addition of 4G LTE network antennas and frequencies on sites that are just actively operating ("On Air") or called New Cells must fulfill the good services standards that would affects user experience. On the 4G LTE network there are parameters or measurement data such as RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power), RSRQ (Reference Signal Received Quality), SINR (Signal Interference to Noise Ratio), and Throughput. Therefore, the Drive Test (DT) method was performed to collect measurement data to find out the actual data from the existing network quality in the area. The type of DT SSV (Single Site Verification) is used for verifying the quality of the 1800 MHz 4G LTE network requency at the BLA699 site. The software used for drive test is Huawei PHU (Probe Handset Unit) Smart. Pre-installed PHU Smart on Huawei smartphones is very easy to use because its functions are quite complete, easy to understand, compact and high mobility. Based on the results of the drive test obtained, the most dominant percentage in the RSRP parameter is 60.63% in good category, SINR is 45.12% in good category, RSRQ is 69.69% in good category. Throughput downloads reached 107 Mb/s and uploads reached 60.6 Mb/s and the lowest ping was 17 ms. Keywords: Quality, 4G LTE Network, Frequency, Drive Test, parameters, RSRP, SINR, RSRQ, Throughput
