Abstract
Failure of network interconnection to provide services will affect work efficiency. The importance of the High availability aspect to ensure the availability of communication. The Virtual Redundancy Router Protocol (VRRP) can provide a link-backup method when the main line fails. Free Range Routing (FRRouting) and Vector Packet Processor (VPP) are open source projects that can be customized to implement the VRRP protocol. This study uses the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) protocols to check the quality of the network on various data sizes with failover and no failover scenarios. The results of the FRRouting-Native scenario without failover show an average throughput value of 9,881 Mbit/s, an average delay of 66,239 ms, an average jitter of 1,790 ms and an average packet loss of 0%, in the failover scenario the average throughput is 5,065 Mbit/s. the average delay is 326,488 ms, the average jitter is 78,795 ms and the average packet loss is 47%. The FRRouting-VPP test in the scenario without failover shows an average throughput value of 9,931 Mbit/s, an average delay of 39,121 ms, an average jitter of 2,281 ms and an average packet loss of 0%, in a failover scenario the average throughput value is 7,631 Mbit. /s, the average delay is 196.07 ms, the average jitter is 78.685 ms and the average packet loss is 52%. Convergence test shows that FRRouting-VPP has an average time of 4% lower than FRRouting-Native. The increase in parameter values is influenced by the size of the data and the scenario used. In the two test scenarios, the results of the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters using the UDP protocol were better than using the TCP protocol, and the average final result was 1-98% different in each scenario. The measurement results are categorized as good in the scenario without failover, and moderate to bad in the scenario with failover based on the TIPHON standardization in using TCP and UDP protocols at various data sizes. Keywords: FRRouting, High avaibility, Redundancy, QoS, VPP.
