Abstract

The hospital is a public health service institution with its own characteristics influenced by the development of health science, technological progress, and the socio-economic life of the community and is able to improve better and affordable services for the community in order to realize the highest degree of health. RSUD Banyumas is one of the regional public hospitals owned by the Regional Government of Banyumas Regency. Based on data obtained at the Banyumas Hospital that the number of inpatient visits handled in 2021 every month has increased. The increase started in May with a total of 1800 visitors and had a peak increase in visitors in July with the number of inpatient visitors totaling 2370 patients with the number of vocational nurses being 182 and professional nurses being 203. This situation makes nurses have a greater responsibility in their duties. So that a high performance is needed from nurses to carry out health services to patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of mental workload using the NASA-TLX method and physical workload using Cardiovascular Load (CVL) measurements on nurses at Banyumas Hospital. The results showed that the mental workload of vocational and professional nurses obtained an average NASA-TLX score of 84.41 and 83.82, which indicated that the workload received by nurses was included in the high workload category. Based on the results of pulse measurement using the CVL method with the average results for vocational nurses and professional nurses are 34.09% and 32.01%, these results indicate that nurses must make improvements to their work. Keywords: Cardiovascular Load, hospital, NASA-TLX, nurse, workload
