Abstract

Harmonics have a negative impact on the electronic equipment used, and can also cause power distribution losses. Because harmonics are interference in the form of distortion of the voltage and current waveforms in the electrical energy generated in the electrical energy system, causing technical and commercial losses. This study describes the implementation of the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) method to perform simulations using Simulink to detect the magnitude of the resulting harmonic values based on the dummy energy meter data used. The THD value of input1 voltage signal lower than 8% is at the 4th (47.0588 Hz) to 13th (54.2373 Hz) frequency, and the THD value of the input1 voltage signal is at the sixth frequency (48.4849 Hz). ) to the 13th frequency (54.2323 Hz). The THD value of the input current signal1 is lower than 5% as the 7th frequency (49.2308)-13 (54.2373 Hz), and the THD value of the input current signal2 is the 5th frequency (47.7612 Hz) to the 10th frequency (51.6129 Hz). The frequency used is only allowed ±5%, so the resulting harmonic values are in accordance with the regulations set by IEEE STD 519-2014. The purpose of modeling this simulation system is to find out how big the harmonic value is, the THD value can be known, and the results obtained can be used as a reference to develop an actual energy meter system using the MCP3909 IC. Keywords : Electrical Power Quality, Harmonics, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), ICMCP3909, Simulink.
