Abstract

The increase in the number of internet users led to an increasing need for the network. One way to balance it is by improving and maintaining routing performance on the internet network. The development of technology makes the routing process requires a considerable scale, then with only one Autonomous System can’t run all routing activities to the maximum in the existing internet network. Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) that serves as a routing protocol that can connect all Autonomous Systems on the internet. External Border Gateway Protocol (EBGP), one of the mechanisms contained in BGP, which can connect between the U.S. and the exchange of information that occurs between different U.S. with a larger network scale. This study analyzed of EBGP performance based on Quality of Service (QoS) delay, jitter, throughput and packet loss parameters in conventional network architecture and Software Defined Network network using ONOS controller. From the measurement results using data size of 7.5 MB, 10 MB and 12.5 Mbps obtained that, performance of software defined network gets the best value for delay and jitter parameters. While on conventional networks the best value is in the parameters of throughput and packet loss. Key Words : Conventional Network, Software Defined Network, Border Gateway Protocol, ONOS, QoS Parameters.
