Abstract

In the world of education, the attendance list or attendance is an important factor that cannot be separated from teaching and learning activities and evaluation. Higher education usually uses signatures as proof of student attendance, as well as the Telkom Purwokerto Institute of Technology, where the system used is QR Codes which how it works uses an application to scan barcodes for attendance so that attendance data cannot be guaranteed validity because it can be done by other people using application by exchanging accounts. It is necessary to build a presence information system that can meet information needs and improve data accuracy. This study aims to utilize Flexcode u.are.u 4500 to be developed into a registration and presence system, in order to be more efficient in use and to minimize fraud. There are several stages in this research. The first stage is identification of needs using interview techniques, file study, and observation. The second stage is a needs analysis to formulate solutions to existing problems. The third stage is designing the system using activity diagrams, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams. The fourth stage is the construction of the system. The fifth stage is testing the system using functional testing and acceptance testing. The last stage is system evaluation. The results of the system evaluation show that the presence information system using the flexcode u.are.u 4500 fingerprint technology is better in terms of data accuracy, the information system provided and ease of management.
