Abstract

The development of LTE technology is limited in urban areas and has not yet expanded into rural areas, but there is possibility LTE networks can be accesed in rural areas so that, provider and operators require a backhaul that is not only reliable but also efficient in terms of capacity, transmission, or implementation in order to deliver these LTE services to rural areas. In this research, the analisys about development of backhaul LTE using Wi-Fi 802.11n tecnology and development of LTE network in rural area , Wi-Fi as a backhaul be used as alternative technology to replace microwave backhaul or fiber optic in rural area. The develpoment LTE Network using frequency 900 MHz to acomodate Borobudur regency for coverage and capacity aspect. Backhaul using Wi-Fi 802.11n frequency 5,8 GHz and bandwidth 40 MHz . Parameter LTE which need to be achieve are -90 dBm for RSRP and 15 dB for SINR, for backhaul network parameter which need to be achive are ,availability 99,999% and receive signal Level > -83 dBm. As the result LTE network acomodate area Borobudur well, the RSRP value obtained from the simulation result is -56,97 dBm and SINR parameter obtained by 20,3 dB. backhaul planning obtained average power received> -83 dBm and Availability> 99,999% for link with distance <6 km. So it can be concluded that Wi-fi based backhaul can work optimally to connect LTE network in rural areas with distance of <6km Keywords: Backhaul, LTE, Rural, Wi-Fi
