Abstract

Body health is something that needs attention because it is very important in supporting various human lives. The most common parameters for identifying the health condition of the body are heart rate and body temperature. The health condition of the human heart can be seen from the number of heart rate frequencies or commonly referred to as Beats Per Minutes (BPM). Normal human heart rate at resting conditions ranges from 60-100 BPM to be considered healthy. Meanwhile, body temperature is a health parameter that is most easily identified in terms of changes in body temperature. This report discusses the results of designing an Arduino-based heart rate and body temperature detector using a Pulse Heart Rate Sensor and a waterproof temperature sensor DS18B20 probe. The test is done by making a comparison between the results of the detector system with a comparison tool. The test results of the detector system failure rate of 1.5%. The difference in the average heart rate test results between the Pulse Heart Rate Sensor and the smartband is 0.8 BPM, equivalent to 0.87%. While the test results of body temperature between the DS18B20 Temperature Sensor and the thermogun obtained an average difference of 0.7C, equivalent to 2.12%. Keywords: heart rate, pulse heart rate sensor, body temperature, DS18B20
