Abstract
Along with technological advances, especially in the field of telecommunications, many telecommunications companies are slowly starting to switch from copper cables to fiber optic cables for one of the transmission media in telecommunications. Behind the development of optical fibers, the light traveling on the optical fiber is bent so that the network attenuation is large. One of the reasons is that the core connection is not good. Usually the connection is done because there is a cable break which usually happens a lot in ODP. To connect the cores, the Fusion Splicer is used with the aim of getting the smallest possible attenuation so that light waves propagate properly. Minimizing attenuation in splicing using a fusion splicer depends on the accuracy and cleanliness of the tools used and the cores that are connected. Ensure the equipment used for connection is clean. And make sure the core is in good condition. With this, the attenuation obtained is as small as possible.
