Abstract

With the increasingly waning use of local languages around Central Java, especially in Banyumas Regency, teenagers are now using more and more foreign languages to interact with each other and to find identity. In addition, the growing tourism potential in the Banyumas region has led to an increase in tourism. Local and international tourists come to a local tourism workshop in the Banyumas area. This can improve the economy of the surrounding population and tourists are interested in Banyumas culture and language. And then, the Banyumas Dictionary Mobile Application will be a solution for the Banyumas community and tourists in interacting and as a medium for learning Banyumas culture and language. The method used in application development is the prototyping method. The purpose of this research is to develop a Banyumas language dictionary mobile application with Tesseract OCR as fast translator input. The level of accuracy of the Tesseract OCR in recognizing letters reaches 87%. Keywords: Language, Prototyping, Tesseract, OCR, Android
