Abstract
Fiber to the home has grown rapidly but for the devolpment of fast data transmission requires a large transmission capacity. In GPON (Passive Gigabit Optical Network) Technology, ITU-T is issued a technology standard, that is XGPON which is expected to be able to chanel data transmission more optimally.Therefore in this final project will implement a fiber network to the home in a new residential. The Grand Kaliori Hills located on Jalan Raya Sokaraja is a new residential concept that is under contruction. In this final project, author has an idea to design fiber to the home using XGPON (10 - Gigabit Passive Optical Network) technology, to new residential to provide a good performance on the services provided. In this final project doing tou count parameters of the feasibility and performance of the system are implemented in the Grand Kaliori Hills. For the feasibility of the system parameters are link power budget, bit eror rate and Q Factor. Parameters values are calculated manually and compared to optisystem, based on the calculation results the value of power link budget that has met standard value is -18.79 dBm and the simulation gets value of -21.551 dBm. BER and Q Factor performance paramters in the simulation get results 3.08506e-134 for BER and 24.624 for Q Factor. From the result obtained are both feasible and in accordance with ITU-T standard.
