Abstract

Oyster mushroom has a tasty flavor when eaten and high nutrition component compared to other mushrooms. One of the obstacle in oyster mushroom cultivation is to overcome pest and disease. The lack of attention in pests and diseases management causes the oyster mushroom failed to be harvested. Therefore, an expert system is needed to help the identification process of pests and diseases. The research was conducted to create a web based expert system based on forward chaining method as the conclusion drawner which provides information on pests and diseases. The expert system ables to diagnose the symptoms of pests and diseases, especially oyster mushroom, as well as to provide a solution, which will be used to reduce or minimize the risk of crop damage. The forward chaining method is implemented in order to facilitate the oyster mushroom farmers in the process of identifying disease that attacks oyster mushroom. The results show an accuracy system at 100% of the 8 data testing of experiments using forward chaining. Keyword : oyster mushroom, forward chaining, expert system, pest and disease
