Abstract
Fiber To The Home (FTTH) is a format of transmission of information in the form of light waves from the center of the service provider (provider) to the user area in a residential, using optical fiber as a delivery medium. In this research, the design of access network fiber to the home based 10-Gigabit Passive Optical Network (XGPON) technology in the housing Kedungrandu Regency. The selection of the housing of Kedungrandu Regency, because for the quality of Internet network of some providers is still not good. The design model is done using the Google Earth and Optisystem applications. The design uses XGPON technology which has a downstream speed of 10 Gbps and an upstream of 2.5 Gbps, where for performance compliance is observed based on the XGPON standard issued by ITU-T. The calculation method used is a power link budget to know the value of the receiving power in theoretical and simulated calculations, while the observed parameters are Q Factor and Bit Error Rate (BER). Based on the result of theoretical calculations obtained the value of the receive power of20.96 dBm, while in the simulation Optisystem obtained the value of the receiving power at ONT of-23.623 dBm. The design performance measurement based on the eye diagram results shows the Q Factor value of 16.1848, and the BER value is 3.13121 x 10-59. Based on the design and analysis of the results, the design of FTTH network using XGPON technology in the housing Kedungrandu Regency has fulfilled ITU-T standard for use of Internet services.
