Abstract

Radar is a system of electromagnetic waves that is useful for detecting, measuring distance, speed, and mapping moving and still objects. The X-band radar is a type of radar that works in the 8 GHz-12 GHz frequency range, because it has a large frequency range so the X-band radar can capture small particles. The X-Band radar will be applied as a surveillance radar in the maritime field, especially to conduct surveillance in Indonesian waters. One of the radar subsystems is an antenna, the antenna will function to emit electromagnetism into free air. To produce a wide range of required high gain antenna and small beamwidth to produce high resolution so that it can distinguish an object. Based on these conditions, this study will design a patch array 4 linear array antenna using X-band frequency at a working frequency of 9.5 GHz. The test results show that the use of Rogers R04003C substrate material is more suitable for X-band antennas and the use of band miter techniques on the antenna channel can increase antenna gain and meet the expected criteria.
