Abstract

In this modern era of information needs among the community is greatly increased and make competition among providers of telecommunication operators increasingly competing to improve their services continue to provide the best service. One way is used so that consumers can send and receive information in large quantities, fast and cheap that is by using fiber-optic cable. But of the many advantages of the use of fiber optic cable is not spared from interference or troubleshoot in the field and disruption in fiber optic cable network that is often encountered is the breakup of fiber-optic cable connecting between sites. Therefore, disconnection of broken fiber optic network with various causes can be done by connecting method using fusion splicer. Splicing using fusion splicer is one of the connecting method that can give maximum result because loss resulting from this connection should not be more than 0,1 dB. So the resulting loss will not degrade the quality of fiber optic cable network services. Keywords: Optical Fiber, Troubleshoot, Fusion Splicer, Splicing
