Abstract
Wi-Fi is one of the technologies used to build a WLAN network using a device called Access Point (AP). Implementation of Wi-Fi networks is usually often found in schools, offices, and shopping centers. However, in its implementation, most do not use the concept of good network design so that there are two or more APs with the distance between adjacent APs using adjacent channels and adjacent channels. Network design like this will cause adjacent channel problems that can affect network performance. This study aims to analyze the effect of adjacent channel interference on Wi-Fi network performance and get a minimum distance between APs to produce good network performance on affected Wi-Fi networks. adjacent channel interference. The method used in this study is to change the distance between the main AP and the confounding AP and the space between the channels, then measure the network performance parameters. The parameters measured are packet loss, latency, and throughput. Based on these studies, it was found that to produce good network performance on Wi-Fi networks affected by adjacent channel interference, the minimum distance between APs was 13 meters and the space between channels was 20 MHz (difference of 4 channels from confounding AP). At the distance between APs and spaces between channels, the packet loss value is 0.0266%, the latency is 0.1123 ms, and the throughput is 53.9475 Mbps. And if without interference from the intruder AP, then the value of packet loss is 0.0146%, latency is 0.1119 ms, and throughput is 54.1395 Mbps. Keywords: Adjacent Channel Interference, Wi-Fi.
