Abstract
Today more and more computers and other devices are connected to the internet. To be able to connect to the internet, a device requires an Internet Protocol (IP) address. Currently most of these devices use version 4 IP address (IPv4). On June 9, 2010, Kominfo stated that IPv4 experienced a reduction in the number of address allocations, of which 6% remained from IPv4 inventories worldwide. With these conditions, the Ministry of Communication and Information together with representatives of ISP providers planned a comprehensive IPv6 implementation in Indonesia. Of course the transition process from IPv4 to IPv6 is done in stages. During this transition there will be types of devices that use IPv4 and IPv6. Both devices cannot be connected directly. To connect these two devices, a translation method is needed, where one of them is NAT (Network Address Translation) 64. Therefore, this research will analyze the performance of IPv4 and IPv6 networks using the NAT64 translation method. To support this, in this study two scenarios were created, namely using file sharing services and streaming video services. File sharing service testing is done by sending files from the server computer to the client computer via Windows Explorer. In testing this file sharing service, it uses file sizes of 1MB, 3MB, 5MB and 10MB. For video streaming scenarios will use four videos with a bitrate of 2000 Kbps, 4000 Kbps, 6000 Kbps, and 8000 Kbps with the duration of each video for 60 seconds. From both scenarios, parameters of packet loss, delay and throughput will be examined. From the results of testing for file sharing, the highest value of packet loss is 17.22% with a file size of 3 MB. For the highest delay value of 2.90 ms with a file size of 10 MB. The highest throughput value is at 2.35 Mbps with a file size of 1 MB. Whereas in the video streaming the highest packet loss value is at 73.79% on video with a bitrate of 8000 Kbps. The highest delay value at 2.84 ms in video with a bitrate of 8000 Kbps. While the highest throughput value is on video with 2000 Kbps bitrate, which is 2.12 Mbps. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the NAT64 translation network performance based on the standard TIPHON number TR 101 329 v2.1.1 is classified as not very good because it has a high value of packet loss and low throughput but low delay.
