Abstract

The development of wireless technology that increases have been the daily needs of the community. Wireless networks can be applied in different places like campus, cafe, Garden, etc. So that the public can enjoy internet services easily without having to lose signal or a signal in some of these places, then created a wireless network by using WDS. Wireless Distribution System (WDS) is a technique of developing a wireless network that can cover the signal to a wider area without using the media cable. In developing wireless network design topology, it is expected to be in accordance with the conditions and situation around and to know the network performance against QoS parameters, one of which, namely ring and mesh network topology. Research conducted in real terms, by comparing the WDS network topology ring and mesh with the variation of the video quality, and also carried out the termination of lines on the network to know the effects posed against QoS. In this study, obtained average value of maximum throughput of 4.45 Mbps and average value of delay a minimum of 1.42 ms on WDS network topology of mesh quality with 1080 p video. However, the value of the packet loss is obtained is quite large when compared to the WDS network topology ring that is 2%. Then, the effect of termination of lines on the WDS network makes network performance based on QoS parameter into a decline when compared with normal time line conditions.
