Abstract

Classification method using SVM and C4.5 algorithms is considered to have a good accuracy value based on previous research. However, no one has compared these two algorithms in classifying the survival of hepatitis patients. This is done to get the best accuracy results. The stages of this research was started from literature study, collecting data, pre-processing of data, normalizing data then classifying using both algorithms and the last searching for the accuracy values of the two algorithms. The result of this reseacrh showed that the C4.5 accuracy value is higher than SVM. With the value 80,6452% for C4.5 and 80, 3279% for SVM’s result. This research is expected can give a benefit of science to the information technology by knowing the application and the accuracy level that compatible with comparison of SVM and C4.5 algorithm in the Hepatitic dataset.
