Abstract

The development of wireless communication systems that are increasingly prevalent in the community makes the quantity of internet users based on Wi-Fi technology increasingly increasing in parts of the world, increasing Wi-Fi technology also encourages Internet service providers (ISP) to build Wi-Fi in open areas. Gombong Square is one of the public places in Kebumen with various activities by people who come and go to do their activities. With various interests of the people who come to Square Gombong make the place always crowded. WiFi network planning in the area can support people who come to Square Gombong in the hope that the place can be a better place when Wi-Fi is installed. Wi-Fi itself is a WLAN technology that uses air as a transmission medium or commonly called wireless (wireless). Wi-Fi planning will be carried out using the 2.4 GHz frequency using Ikegami Walfisch propagation. Planning will be done with two method scenarios, namely by putting the access point and by optimizing the access point. The most optimal results are found in the optimization scenario method 2 with the results of good categories get a percentage of 64% with data 33, enough categories get a percentage of 32% with data of 43, and in the bad category get a percentage of 0% data 26. Compared to all scenarios, scenarios 2nd optimization has enough results because it is closer to the RSSI standard parameters.
