Abstract
Indonesia is a country with high rainfall. Lack of water absorption causes flooding. Construction of dams is one of the anticipations to prevent flooding. Monitoring water levels in dams is very important because the results of monitoring water will be the initial information in preventing flooding, especially in settlements around the dam. However, monitoring the water level at the dam still uses the manual method. This is very ineffective if the weather conditions are bad and does not allow manual monitoring when such accurate data on dam water conditions are needed to anticipate possible flooding. so a prototype is created that aims to monitor water levels automatically which is able to provide accurate water level information that can be seen anytime and anywhere by utilizing technology based on Internet of Things (IoT). This tool utilizes an ultrasonic sensor as a component of water level monitoring, NodeMCU ESP8266 as a microcontroller and wireless communication media to transmit data from sensors. The expected results in this system can monitor the dam water level automatically, the system provides information about the water level implemented with a prototype that is able to monitor water levels automatically with the distance used is on a 23cm prototype scale, when water is reduced or added it will be read by ultrasonic sensor. If the water level is <16cm, the condition is safe, but if> 16cm is a danger condition with the sound of the Buzzer as a warning of the danger condition. and the measurement results can be seen on the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display).
