Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of the technology is very rapid, resulting in the need for video, voice, and data services are getting bigger. Fiber To The Home is an optical fibre network that can meet these needs. The research conducted a comparison of one stage design techniques with two stages. Designing and simulating using Optisystem 7.0, Google Earth, Autocad with parameters of feasibility link power budget, bit error rate according to that standard ITU-T G.984, obtained by two stage attenuation total distance 1,6 km at downstream 20, 777dB, the power margin is 6,22 dBm and 20,88 dB attenuation total, the power margin of 6,12 dBm on upstream. At the one stage attenuation of the total distance of 1,6 km at the downstream 12,378 dB, the power margin is 14,62 dBm and 12,49 dB attenuation total, the power margin is 14,51 dBm on upstream. Power receive results are obtained according to the standard sensitivity of no greater -28 dBm. Results of Rise Time Budget, on the downstream distance 1,6 km 0,031467 ns and upstream 0,031252 ns, the result is still in accordance with the standards of the NRZ value of 0,28 ns on downstream and 0,583 ns on upstream. Result from 1,6 km one stage technique on the downstream and upstream sides result in 0 and two stage downstream techniques worth 3.304 x 10-216, upstream side 2.666 x 10 -194 of the obtained result is still in accordance with the BER standard which is under 10-9. Q-Factor results 1.6 km with one stage technique on the downstream side, 107.459 on the upstream side is worth 90.061 and for the two stage technique on the downstream side, a value of 31.361 on the upstream side is worth 29.708, still in accordance with the standard value of 6.
