Abstract
ABSTRACT Nowadays technology is growing and facilitating human work. One of the systems searches the object or location in an indoor environment. The technology that is often used to determine the position is the Global Positionig System (GPS). But the GPS signal is difficult to reach when the receiving device is in the room or high rise building. Therefore, this research implements Indoor Localization at the Telkom Institute of Technology in Purwokerto utilizing the Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) which uses ZigBee as a communication medium. One of the stages of indoor localization is determining distance estimation, where researchers use a strong receiving signal (RSSI) by grouping the value of Pathloss exponent (PLE) based on room characteristics (clusters). As for determining the position estimation based on the number of reference nodes namely Trilateration and multilateration. From the test results in the get that the estimation result of distances with PLE clusters has error 0.534 meters and PLE without clusters of 0.903 meters. For accuracy estimation the best position is obtained on Multilateri PLE cluster with Mean Square Error (MSE) of 0.714 meters and the lowest at PLE trillion without clusters of 1.2 meters. While the comparison of computational time of the four methods ie multilateration PLE without clusters, PLE trilateration without Cluster, multilateration of PLE clusters, and a trilateration of PLE clusters are almost identical between 8.72 to 8.75 second.
