Abstract

ABSTRACT As technology and current needs are rapidly increasing from year to year, making IP-based network services more and more needed, consequently the IPv4 inventory is getting low while the needs of IP are increasing, then be created by IPv6. Like IPv4, IPv6 also requires routing protocol. Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is an upgraded version of Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4), on IPv6 has 128 bits while IPv4 has 32 bits of address. MPLS Technology features VPN for virtual private network. Applying IPv6 to IPv4 used technology that is 6VPE (VPN Provider Edge), 6VPE is a method used to translate from IPv6 to IPv4 using MPLS VPN Network and this study using two routing protocols OSPFv3 and BGP. This 6VPE technology can run using IPv4 and IPv6 in MPLS VPN backbone network. This simulation research is to know the quality performance of data transfer using 6VPE method on MPLS VPN network using QoS parameter (Quality of Service). Simulation of this research is done by local network and under normal circumstances or do not do other activities and not connected to the Internet. The QoS result from this simulation is obtained the value of the throughput increasing with the test scenario 10 MB up to 5 GB obtained the value of throughput 3466.6 kbps up to 3695.2 Kbps. Simulation results of this research the value of delay is decreased with the trial scenario 10 MB up to 5 GB with a delay of 0.00412 second to 0.00325 second, the delay value obtained in the research can be said very well Due to standard ITUT G 1010 < 15 second. Result packet loss QoS from 10 MB test scenarios up to 5 GB obtained 0343% up to 0348% due to increasing file size increases then packet loss increased, packet loss value in the study can be said quite well with Standard ITUT G 1010 0%. Result of QoS jitter from 10 MB to 5 GB of scenario obtained 0.003903 second up to 0.000534 second. keywords : 6VPE, MPLS VPN, QoS, ITUT G
