Abstract
Indonesia is an agrarian country that has large natural resources and must be processed maximally. Land is one of the main factors in agriculture must be considered as well as possible in order to provide the results as expected. One of them is by utilizing the Remote Monitoring System. However, there are factors that inhibit the installation in agriculture, such as communication systems that cannot reach very far areas. One of the communication protocols that can provide solutions to this is the LoRa protocol which is included in Low Power Wide Area Network communication. In this study the authors conducted a study related to the LoRaWAN communication system which was implemented on a farm soil moisture monitoring device. Based on research that has been done the author can conclude that the value of success rate and packet loss in sending data using LoRaWAN communication can be influenced by the propagation used at the time of delivery. Based on the results of the data, the value of success rate on LOS propagation is higher than NLOS propagation. And the value of packet loss on NLOS propagation is higher than LOS propagation. The higher the success rate value on the shipment, the better transmission is said to be. While the greater the value of packet loss in data transmission, the transmission is said to be getting worse. Based on the test results, the maximum distance that can be reached for package delivery using the LoRaWAN protocol is an estimate of around 13.6km. Keywords: LoRa, LoRaWAN, Gateway, End Device
