Abstract
The development of information technology is currently growing rapidly, one of which is the development of network technology. There is a network concept by separating the control plane and the data plane. This concept is called the software define network (SDN). In the SDN there is a protocol that supports the concept of the network that is the OpenFlow protocol. OpenFlow protocol that is widely used is version 1.0 and 1.3. Comparing the performance of the two versions is worth testing because version 1.3 adds service quality features by supporting more than one table flow while version 1.0 only supports one table flow. The research scenario was carried out using a Mininet simulator and OpenDaylight controller. The first scenario builds an SDN network using the OpenFlow protocol version 1.0 and the second scenario uses version 1.3. From these scenarios, 30 times the data were collected using D-ITG in each scenario. The process of testing is in the form of QoS (quality of services). Three QoS parameters used are delay, jitter, and throughput. The results, get an average value of delay in scenario 1 of 0.62 ms and scenario 2 of 0.48 ms. The average value of jitter in scenario 1 is 0.31 ms and in scenario 2 it is 0.048 ms. The average value of throughput in scenario 1 is 340.9 kbps and scenario 2 is 309.7 kbps. Based on the test results, the performance of the OpenFlow protocol version 1.3 is better than version 1.0 because the values obtained by the OpenFlow protocol version 1.3 are more stable than version 1.0. Network quality test results are measured based on TIPHON standardization. Keywords: OpenFlow, Mininet, OpenDaylight, D-ITG, SDN (Software Define Network).
