Abstract
The use of computer network technology as a medium of data communication between devices is increasing, along with the increasing need and the increasing use of networks that want a form of network that can provide maximum results both in terms of efficiency and increased network security. Therefore, the presence of subnetting techniques and the use of hardware that is better, among others, the Switch then appears the concept (VLAN), namely Virtual Local Area Network, which is expected to provide better results compared to the use of (LAN) Local Area Networks. VLANs can split domain broadcast areas virtually or logically. The method used during data retrieval is the practice method which is to practice the existing devices directly, in addition to using the interview method which is done by asking the field supervisor directly about the work done and the procedures for operating it. And the last one uses the literature method by searching and reading various kinds of books that are used as references to obtain data related to the switch installation process. Based on the installation results, Mode on GigabitEthernet port 0/0/1 to 0/0/3 uses hybrid mode because VLAN 123 is used for antennas that use Access mode, while VLAN 9 is used to manage switches that use trunk mode.
