Abstract

5G technology is a development from the previous cellular technology, 4G. 5G is designed to meet the demands for very high capacity and data rate demand. 5G is predicted to occupy 1-100 GHz working frequency. The use of high frequency in 5G technology is very influential in the application of the modulation system to the sender to produce an effective and efficient system. Some telecommunications service providers implement adaptive modulation with high order modulation like 64-QAM. 64-QAM modulation each symbol can state in 64 values. 64 values are expressed in 4 amplitude changes and 16 phase changes in the carrier. 64-QAM has 64 combinations for 6 bits of data with 16 symbols per quadrant. In 64-QAM simulations on 5G technology, the results of AWGN and BER Fading BER are still different from the theory. The 3GPP standard on 64-QAM mapping modulation must be carried out more in-depth research which is predicted to be a BER problem. The simulation is not in accordance with BER theory. Keywords : 5G, Modulation, 64-QAM, AWGN, Rayleigh Fading
