Abstract

In a telecommunications network must use the transmission media as a way for information sent at a considerable distance. For this reason, the importance of a transmission medium in the telecommunications network. One of the transmission media that is circulating now is the use of satellites as a transmission medium that can cover a country's territory. Because this satellite-based communication does not require cable or optical fiber, it is quite effective to use in an archipelago country like Indonesia. Satellite communication is a communication that is used to send information from one location to another at a great distance. Judging from the configuration of this satellite communication consists of gorund segment and space segment where the segment is interacting with each other in carrying out a communication. Because the location of the satellite is far above the earth, in the ground segment there is a device that is used as a signal reinforcement called HPA (High Power Amplifier) In its application the HPA has 3 types, namely KPA, TWTA, SSPA where the types have characteristics in strengthening. One of these characteristics is the strengthening of KPA from 1-1000 Watts, TWTA from 1-750 Watts, SSPA from 1500 Watts. Based on the observation of the HPA, it only strengthens the range of 110 watts under normal conditions. Therefore, for efficient use of HPA, it is best to use the SSPA type.
