Abstract
One of the variety of communication services has been a primary need for people nowaday. The technology that supports the tripple play communication service is using FTTX network. The technology GPON provides bandwidth transmission up to 2,5 Gbps which develops into XGPON with big bandwidth capacity addition up to 10 Gbps. The implementation of a technology development can be applied with Hybrid technology. This research discusses about the performance working between GPON and XGPON using optisystem software. Multiplexer is employed to combine upstream and downstream signals using bidirectional fiber at GPON 2,5 Gbps and XGPON 10 Gbps. Signals that carry bits of information in the form data, video, and voice in light change to electrical signals at the recaiver passes the optical signal modulation process. Power is given by the source transmitter and the optical information signals received the signals which converted into electrical information at the receiver. The simulation with the value of the power shows that the bigger value of power input, pump power, insertion loss, fiber length variation nor the value of QFactor and decrease the value of BER.
