Abstract
Along with the increasing need for data speed, the most widely used technology for transmission is optical fiber. Fiber To The Home (FTTH) is a network technology with an internet connection that uses fiber optic cable as the transmission medium. In the FTTH network there is a 10-Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network (XGPON) technology in XGPON technology there is a splitter component that functions to divide power. In this study different from previous researchers who discussed the performance analysis of XGPON on a 1:64 splitter ratio with one stage configuration. In this research will discuss about XGPON performance analysis using 1:64 splitter using 2 methods, the first method uses the one stage splitter method using the 1:64 splitter ratio and the second using the two stage splitter using the ratio 1:2;1:32, 1:4;1:16, and 1:8;1:8 with 64 splitter outputs and parameters used in the form of receive power, Bit Error Rate (BER), and Q-factors simulated using Optisystem. The results of this study on the upstream system showed that XGPON performance using a power of 2 dBm at a distance of 20 km by using a splitter 1:64 one stage obtained the receiving power value of -26.713 dBm, BER of 1.22x10 -18 , and Q-factor is 8,7344, splitter 1:2;1:32 two stages obtain a receive power value of -25,913 dBm, BER of 9,80x10 , and a Q-factor of 10,4216, splitter 1:4;1:16 two the stage obtained the receiving power value of -26,913 dBm, BER of 3,28x10 -26 -17 , and the Q-factor of 8,35375, splitter 1:8;1:8 obtained the received power value of -27,913 dBm, BER of 1.25x10 , and the Q-factor is 6.67304. For the downstream system the results of the splitter 1:64 one stage obtain the receiving power value of -26.713 dBm, BER of 1.25x10 -11 , and the Q-factor of 4.21357, splitter 1:2;1:32 obtain the received power value of -25,914 dBm, BER is 2,53x10 -5 , and Q-factor is 5,02182, splitter 1:4;1:16 gets the received power value of -26,710 dBm, BER is 6,93x10 -7 , and Q-factor is 3,80875, splitter 1:8;1:8 obtained a receive power value of -27,913 dBm, BER of 6,59x10 -5 , and a Q-factor of 3,21029. -4 Keywords- XG-PON, Fiber To The Home (FTTH).
