Abstract

Fiber To The Home (FTTH) is a system that provides optical fiber networks where optical contrast points are in the customer's home. The conversion point is the end of the optical fiber network on the client side that functions as a place of optical signals to various signals. The architecture of optical fiber communication networks in FTTH is a Passive Optical Network (PON). PON is a point-tomultipoint network that does not have active components on the Central Office (CO) side and the customer / user side. In other words, optical signals are only through passive components, namely optical fibers, splices, and splitters / combiners. PON is the latest technology after a point-to-point fiber connection, where each client has a fiber optic path to CO, and Active Optical Network (AON), which is a network that requires active components in the form of electronic switches as information suppliers. At this stage of work practice, optical fiber and fiber fiber data collection has been carried out using Google Earth in the Kotabaru area, Yogyakarta. The results of the data obtained were carried out by survey, this survey aims to be able to find out the network capacities in the Kotabaru area. Keywords : fiber to the home, passive optical network, active optical network, google earth, survey
