Abstract

Fiber To The Home Network is a service from PT Telkom for customers who need an internet connection or data. Not only the internet, the Fiber To The Home Network also provides services in the form of voice and video. The Fiber To The Home network uses broadband Internet connections that use fiber optic cables for personal or home users. Optical fiber-based systems or technologies can deliver a variety of digital information more effectively. When compared with copper cables that can carry data up to 1.5 Mbps for distances of less than 2.5 km, fiber optic cables can transport data up to 2.5 Gbps for a distance of 200 km further. fiber optic cable can transport data more than 1,500 times the ability of ordinary copper cables. GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) is one of the passive fiber optic fiber network technology. GPON is a technology chosen by PT Telkom Tbk to combat the Fiber To The Home network. GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) is a Fiber To The X (FTTx) technology that can send information to customers using fiber optic cables.
