Abstract

Along as the development of communication technology is currently growing very rapidly, telecommunications technology has become a basic need in people's daily lives. In this study the discussed about modem installation. The modem used in the installation is the Huawei Hg8245a GPON modem. For the installation process use the installation via web / browser. The installation uses the default ip modem that will be installed. The amount of a good attenuation value is equal to 15-28 dB. For the default ip modem on the bottom of the modem of the device. Enter the main page of the software by entering the default ip modem in the URL on the web / browser. To set up configurations including WAN, LAN and WLAN menus. GPON (Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network) modem is better than GEPON (Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network), GPON itself has more efficient data transmission, greater data capacity and data distribution network using optics. The internet speed value of 18.83 Mbps will approach the data packet value which is equal to 20 Mbps, uncertain internet speed according to the data package.
