Abstract

Point-to-Point is the solution for connecting two different locations and reach the cable media using Wi-Fi technology. Currently, Wi-Fi is quite familiar in the society, especially in urban areas and is easily found in various places such as shops, cafes, schools, homes, and other places. It can increased interference on point-to-point Wi-Fi networks. The method used is research and development including analysis, design, and implementation. In this research, the MikroTik SXT 2nDr2 device was used as a link between the client and the server. Network planning with the distance between the access point and the receiver as far as 200 meters and a height of 3 meters from the ground. The frequency used is in the 2.4 GHz band with a variation of the channel width of 5 MHz, 10 MHz, 20 MHz, and 40 MHz as well as the device power of 100mW. 10 access point devices are used for simulating the interference region and the location of testing certain line of sight (LOS). The results of this research indicate the interference can reduce the percentage of CCQ to more than 30% which results in a decrease in throughput value. The 5 MHz channel width is more susceptible to interference than other channel width variations. Channel widths of 10 MHz, 20 MHz and 40 MHz can provide excellent video streaming services with stable throughput results despite interference. The best packet loss results when using a 40 MHz channel width with 0% percentage in all services. Keyword: Wi-Fi, point to point, channel width, quality of service
