Abstract

The application of FTTH-based cable services at the Grand Lavali Karangwangkal became one of the facilities for triple play service providers in the region. This final project research designed the FTTH network from the center to the customer and simulated it to determine the quality of the network which was seen based on the calculation of power link budget, rise time budget, BER and Q Factor analysis. Based on the calculation of the power link budget, the results obtained are in accordance with ITU-T standards, where values of -15.158 dBm are obtained for the downlink and -17.158 for the uplink with a minimum limit for the power link budget of -28 dBm. Based on the calculation of rise time budget obtained tsystem value of 0.02983 ns or 29.13 ps where the value meets the RZ and NRZ coding because it is below the limit time which is worth 280 ps for NRZ and 140 for RZ. The simulation results show the BER and Q Factor values have met the standard for XGPON of 2.53483 × 10-028 for the downlink with a Q Factor value of 10.9735. Whereas on the uplink side, BER is obtained at 3.12675 × 10-041 with a Q Factor value of 13.3974. Both on the uplink and downlink sides, both of them have met the BER and Q Factor minimum standards at ITU-T which are 10-12 for BER and 6 for Q Factor. So that it can be said that the design planning for the Grand Lavali Karangwangkal has met ITU-T standards. Keywords: FTTH, XGPON, Power Link Budget, Rise Time Budget, Bit Error Rate, Q Factor.
