Abstract

Optical fiber drop cable network is an optical fiber in an FTTH network installed from ODP to OTP located at the customer's home. Optical drop wiring is one of the most important processes to consider in building an FTTH network, because it is the termination between the end of ODP and OTP residing in the customer's home. The drop cable serves to forward optical signals to the customer's home using standard cable types that are not sensitive to bending, this is intended to anticipate the wiring location. Field work practices aim to train the potential of students in the world of work and know the telecommunication technology in the telecommunications business. Determining the flow of cables is a process that must be done before installation is done, so the installation can be done without interruption and easily repaired when damaged. Optic drop wiring starts from ODP Pole, located on the pole, to connect optical drop cable is done by connecting the connector with the drop cable then connected to the port on ODP Pole. Once connected with ODP Pole, the pulling of the drop cable begins, the cable is pulled toward the top end. Withdrawal of drop cables to multiple poles is required to install S-Clamp on wire messenger to strengthen and protect drop cores from bumps and impacts that can cause drop-out drops. The optical drop-off cable in the customer's home is connected to the fusion connector and then connected to the OTP. Power measurements on OTP should have values in the range of -23 dB ~ -20.5 dB.
