Abstract

ABSTRACT current developments in telecommunications technology is growing very fast. Telecommunications technology without the use of wired or wireless has been experiencing developments. At the present moment has been reached in the fourth generation (4G). Technology 4G is Long Term Evolution (LTE). LTE provides data access services at speeds higher than previous generations. In the absence of a wireless device antenna does not work. To get a high gain antenna then used an array of techniques. While the antenna system used is MIMO antenna system. MIMO antenna system is a system that consists of a number of antenna on the side of the sender and the receiver with correlation coefficient is below 0,2. To generate the coefficients of correlation of under 0,2 used the distance between antennas of λ/2. In this thesis will be designed and realized the antenna mikrostrip array rectangular patch using proximity coupled for applications that work on the LTE frequency 2,3 GHz up to 2,4 GHz. Antenna simulation shows the frequency of work planned between 2,3 GHz – 2,4 GHz with middle frequency 2,35 GHz, have a value VSWR is 1,021 and return loss is -39,344 dB, the gain value of 6,255 dB, and the value of the correlation coefficient is 1 x 10-8. On the results of the measurement antenna there is a change of frequency being 2,270 GHz – 2,415 GHz have a value VSWR with 1,040 and return loss is -34,033 dB, bandwidth is 145 MHz, the value of the gain of 7,45 dB, and the value of the coefficient kolerasi 2 x 10-8. The direction of the radiation pattern of the antenna it is unidirectional and the polarization ellipse. From design and analysis, then the antenna can be used as antenna LTE technology.
