Abstract

Currently built by PT. Telkom Indonesia is almost migrated to optical network due to its ability compared to copper cable. One of its capabilities is to have a large amount of bandwidth capacity, due to the rapidly growing number of customers and rapidly growing telecommunication technology. Installation and maintenance of a good network is needed to satisfy its customers. Optical Fiber is now widely used for everyday needs. In case of network interruption, troubleshooting needs to be done. Measurement becomes one of the troubleshoot completion steps on Fiber Optic network. Measurements can be done on one side or two sides, depending on the needs of the company. From these measurements can be obtained some important data, such as cores that are in damaged condition, can see the position of fiber optic breaks and the priority is the fiber optic cable quality check whether it meets the standards or not. This measurement can be done once in a month or 2 times, depending on the needs. This measurement can be done on DWDM devices that have access to fiber optic networks. This measurement is very important to know the conditions on fiber optic network in a region. Keyword: Fiber Optic, Troubleshoot and DWDM
