Abstract

Abstract – Telecommunication growth in Indonesia has reached the fouth generation, or we know as a Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology. All telecommunication operators compete to provide the best service and up to date. Need a good planning proccess to create a reliable network quality. This research is designing LTE network in Yogyakarta city, where planning is simulated with four skenarios of frequency and bandwidth. The first skenario uses 900 MHz frequency and 5 MHz bandwidth, the second skenario use 900 MHz frequency and 10 MHz bandwidth , a third skenario use the 1800 MHz frequency and 10 MHz bandwidth, and the fourth skenario use 1800 MHz frequency and 20 MHz bandwidth. Planning process that must be done is to do some calculations such as Radio link budget, user estimation, eNodeB location, service model clasification , network throughput and resource capacity. The performance of planning with four skenarios will be analysed with a several parameters, like RSRP, SINR, radio bearer and throughput capability can generated on each skenario. Simulation of 900 MHz frequency was able to produce a better spread of coverage with an average of RSRP – 60.4 dBm. The 1800 MHz frequency produce an average of RSRP – 72.11 dBm. Bandwidth allocation quantity will affecting on data access speed in which 20 MHz Bandwidth simulation capable of producing an average throughput up to 31.1 Mbps, 10 MHz bandwidth of 15.1 Mbps, and throughput of 5 MHz bandwidth only of 4.78 Mbps. Kyeword: LTE, Planning, Atoll, RSRP, SINR, Radio Bearer, Throughput.
