Abstract

IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a technology convergence and IP-based services that users can use voice service and the other data services.. WiMAX is a broadband technology that has highspeed access up to 70 Mbps. Both of services can accommodate video on demand services. Video on Demand (VoD) is a video service that user can select, watch or listen the video as user request. Video on demand services sensitive to delay and jitter, so it is necessary to analyze QoS. Analysis QoS performed on two network scenarios, there are IntServ and DiffServ scenario. Both of scenarios simulated with different user, that are 6 users, 8 users and 10 users. The time of simulation are 100s and 200s. IntServ scenario used to observe the IMS network, while DiffServ scenario used to observe the interworking IMS-WiMAX network. The results of research based on observations of QoS parameters result that the value of end-to-end delay, jitter, and packet loss on the network IntServ and DiffServ for video on demand services is still at the value recommended by the ITU-T G.114. The value of the average end to end delay of 100.48 ms, jitter of 0.069 ms, throughput of 13.12 Mbits/s, and packet loss of 0.133%. While on DiffServ scenario, the average value of end-to-end delay of 87.20 ms, jitter of 0.00052 ms, throughput of 15.24 Mbits/s and packet loss of 0.449%. Keywords: IMS, WiMAX, VoD, end to end delay, jitter, throughput, and packet loss.
