Abstract

The research concern about performance comparison of Routing information protocol (RIP) & Enchanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) for data transfer. The objectives is to get the best routing protocol to implemented in a network. Parameters that use to get the performance of them are time convergence, packet delay, jitter, and packet loss. The data that use in this research for both of routing protocol are voice, ftp and email. The result of this research display grafik simulation that show QOS of RIP and EIGRP routing protocol. The simulation using OPNET (Optimized Network Engineering Tools) Modeler versi 14.5. From the axamination get time of convergence in both of routing the best is EIGRP that first start at the fifth second. Then link failed at 200th second with duration 0.33 second. For packet delay end to end routing EIGRP better than RIP at Jakarta and Kupang when link is normal and even failed, and packet loss routing EIGRP also better than RIP. Keyword : RIP, EIGRP, Time Convergence, Packet Delay End to End, Packet Loss, Jitte
