Abstract
ABSTRACT IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is one of the Next Generation Network (NGN) technologies that enables providing triple play services in the form of voice call, video call and data transmission. Implementation of triple play services using technology from IP Multimedia Subsystem requires a backbone network that has good data transmission speed and also reliable, then used an MPLS network. Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) is a method of forwarding data over a network using information in labels attributed to IP. MPLS has the main component one of them MPLS - Traffic Engineering (TE). MPLS - TE provides reliable, efficient network operation while optimizing resource usage and traffic performance. IP Multimedia Subsystem analysis is tested on the MPLS - TE network using the GNS3 and wireshark applications. The goal is to find out how well Open IMS Core performs on an MPLS - TE network that uses the primary path and backup paths as per the scenario created for triple play services. From the results obtained, network performance can be said very well because the QoS value is still in accordance with ITU-T G.1010 standard. For the results of the three services, the best result for each parameter tested is in the data delivery service with the parameters of throughput obtained for 104.208 kbps, for the delay parameter of 0.00007s, for the jitter parameter of 0.00000002s and for the parameter packet loss obtained 0% . Keywords: IMS, MPLS – TE, QoS, Triple play
