Abstract

As the development of telecommunications and information technology, as well as the mobility and flexibility of use of such services has increased, the more the cable network had been largely replaced by wireless networks or wireless. With this technology allows any user can access information more flexible, compared to cable or wireline technologies, but it is also more efficient from the aspect of network infrastructure, in this research study will be conducted on the parameters of the wireless network (WLAN) using scenarios Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA / CA), Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) which is a fundamental of the Media Access Control (MAC), Point Coordination Function (PCF), and Request to Sent (RTS). In the FTP service packet loss rate finest existing 802.11b DCF RTS scenario by 10%, and 1% for 802.11g DCF scenario, the HTTP best of all, there is the RTS DCF scenario with a value of 10% for 802.11b, and 2% for 802.11g at RTS DCF scenario, the value of the delay on the video service converence, the smallest delay for PCF RTS scenario 41.8ms for 802.11b, and 18ms for 802.11g at the PCF RTS scenario, the value is included in the category of very good <150ms appropriate standardization ITUT G.1010, whereas for the WLAN parameters, the lowest delay 49ms for 802.11b, and 14ms for 802.11g, at the PCF RTS scenario, and the value of the good throughput also at the PCF RTS scenario , with 2.9Mbps for 802.11b, and 10.3Mbps for 802.11g. Of these parameters will be made a simulation using OPNET simulator, for simulating WLAN network that results will be analyzed to determine what parameters are required to make a WLAN network. Keywords-CSMA/CA,MAC,DCF,PCF,RTS.
