Abstract

By the growing of telecommunications technology based on wireless technology is needed a communication system that can perform high-speed data transmission with good quality. The use and selection of antennas is one of the important factors that affect the performance antenna. Antennas used in WiFi technology has a small gain value. To increase the value of the gain antennas is used a microstrip array antenna that has a small size and thin, and able to work at high frequencies. Design and realization of the antenna in this paper is used for WiFi applications that work at a frequency of 2.4 GHz until 2,484 GHz. Simulation results of microstrip rectangular 2 array antenna shows the frequency planned work is between 2.4 GHz - 2484 GHz, has a return loss and VSWR value of a minimum of -18.80 and 1.98 dB at a frequency 2.442 MHz, the maximum gain value of 4.62 dBi. For the measurement results of microstrip rectangular 2 array antenna showed a shift of the frequency range from 2.4 GHz until 2.484 be 2.475 GHz until 2.536 GHz and this antenna in this frequency has a return loss and VSWR value of a minimum of -15.43 dB and 1,40 at a frequency 2505 GHz and value of the maximum gain is 4.16 dBi. This frequency shift caused by the difference in the value of εr in simulation and on the materials used in printing the antenna. To obtain maximum results between simulation and measurement should be noted that the accuracy of the value of εr in materials is 4.4. Keywords: Microstrip Array Antenna, WiFi, Gain, VSWR, Frequency
