Abstract

Rapid technological developments make people want to perform daily activities more convenient and practical. Short Message Service (SMS) is a communications technology that is often used in everyday life, and even as it becomes a basic need for everyone. SMS can also be used as a medium for the notification of certain systems to be used for public purposes. One system that requires the SMS technology is library ST3 TELKOM Purwokerto. SMS notification used in the design of the Notification System of Return Library Book ST3 TELKOM Purwokerto with SMS Gateway Web-Based to minimize late in the return of the book, in which the system generates a notification in the form of SMS Gateway and the Web. SMS Gateway with single and multiple types of SMS is used as a notification regarding the lending period has expired and the additional features of SMS autoreply to know the information book. Web on the system is used as place for input data. SMS sending process is done through the web and then entered into a database that is connected to the modem via gammu then sent to the mobile phone. Sending SMS with different operators have more delay than the same operator. Keywords: SMS Gateway, Web, System, and Modem
